Image and Shape Calicration Software

"Arcvista" is a software for a Windows PC that fully-automatically corrects distortion of lenses of images photographed by digital cameras.

In general, as distortions occur at the periphery of an image obtained by photography with digital cameras, due to the optical characteristics of the camera lens it was difficult to obtain an image identical to the photographing subject.

A marker sheet is attached to "Arcvista," which is used for measurement of distortion of camera lenses. Based on the marker sheet, through calculation processing of the image data photographed and the image data of the photographing subject, the digital image from which distortion is removed can be made. In calculation processing, as the original size of the photographing subject and the contraction scale of digital image are automatically calculated, actual distance measurement with high precision (difference from the original size is ±0.5mm) can be made on the software.

1. As high precision actual distance measurement is possible on the display, it is not necessary to put precious original materials such as cultural assets in and out from the storage.
   *There is no risk of hurting the original materials.
   *In the case of photography of materials of A-0 size by a digital camera with 5 million pixels, the difference is within only ±0.5mm.
2. In a case of photography of large size materials, photography is made in sections, and a huge digital image can be made by efficiently making joint processing of photos in sections.
